Optimal Resume: Looks GREAT! Is it?
I need to build a new resume, and while Monster and other job boards have a resume builder, what I really need is guidance to make a really good one that will help me to stand out.
I was checking out Optimal Resume (www.optimalresume.com) and they have a great offer. Free for 24 hours. During that time, I was able to go through their entire site, build a resume using examples, recommendations, etc. Much more than just a "sample" resume. It was actually a very good experience.
What I loved most of all was the setup they have for practicing interview questions. I use a Mac with a built-in camera and it's really good. You get asked the question from what looks like a professional recruiter, then record your response so you can see how you would sound. It was a great experience.
Also, they have a job board, but it's not very good. It's just SimplyHired. I prefer Indeed, but it's there.
I couldn't see about after the 24 hours free, so I looked up their pricing and found this information at http://alisondoyle.typepad.com/alison_doyle/2010/03/optimal-resume-free-trial.html:

That seems like a fair deal. Also, I found out on their website that they give 50% of their profits to college career centers. Also a plus.
Has anyone else checked them out? I think they're the best I've seen.
I'm interested in anyone else's thoughts and comments.
