Bogus Postings to BetterJobsFaster
I just sent this blast:
To all the BetterJobsFaster members,
I apologize for the persistent influx of trolls joining the community with the sole purpose of using it to send spam messages. Up until today, the site was freely open to anyone wanting to join. However, as a result of the persistent spam accounts over the past several weeks, the site is now open on an approval basis by the site managers.
There is nothing you need to do to your account, and this change only affects those seeking to become new members. Unfortunately, it is necessary so that any summary updates you have asked to receive are spam free.
Thank you for being a member, and I hope that we are helpful to you in achieving your career potential.
Best regards,
Dan DeMaioNewton

How do you utilize your social network when your networks if full of coworkers? | 0 | 0 | 581 |
Thanks, Dan. You've cured one of the most annoying, time-sucking aspects of social media, unfortunately at a significant time cost to you.
The WIND Networking e-mail listserv I run is members-only, which has kept it virtually SPAM-free. When a spammer pops up, the moderator blocks the message and warns the sender that future SPAM will get him/her kicked off the list. If moderator misses it, other members blast the spammer.
Thanks again for taking care of this problem.
Keep up the good work.
Fred
