Thank you to all the people who wrote with advice and good wishes regarding

my landing and job negotiations!
I'd love to thank you all personally, but it's just not possible.



So far it has been a little strange. The group I was hired into is in

transition from one set of responsibilities (for which I'm probably

unqualified for, and not terribly interested in) to another, much more

promising. The interesting question is how long will that transition take.

For now I'm going to training courses for things I hope I won't have to do.

I'm filing it in the "extra knowledge never hurts" category. In my past

experience, one doesn't usually get sent to training as part of contract

work. (!)



I'll keep my ears open for other job openings.
