I've landed! Thank you for your support. I was out for just over a year
and have landed back in my profession, international banking; VP,
Commercial Operations Manager, import export payment operations. During
the last 4 months I was shadowing a wonderful consultant in export
compliance which would have turned into a great job opportunity but not
until a year from now.

When an opening came up with Sovereign Bank,
where a former colleague of mine knew that I was still out, I jumped. I
polished the resume - again, got it out to that same afternoon. After 2
phone screens one with the recruiter and with my former colleague and 3
interviews with the business partners I was hired. The process took
just 2.5 weeks because of the specific need. With the organized Acton
Network meetings that allowed so much information to be shared (and I
couldn't make it every week) I was spurred on and stayed hopeful. I
participated in BarnRaising, followed The NE Job Show, worked on the
U.S. Census, and have prospered with contacts on LinkedIn.

all for your enthusiasm, stories of good days, bad days, industry group
meetings, skills workshops, insurance info and especially landings! The
speakers were fabulous - everyone said this day would come! I learned
so much along the way about myself, my family, my friends, my
colleagues and have restored my faith in humanity. I start tomorrow,
sorry no doughnuts... Many of you reached out to me and I hope I've
reached out to you too!
