Our client is looking to staff a team that is tasked with developing an organizational structure that will aid in the strategic design of the IT Organization. This assembled project team will assess and analyze IT staffing structures, business processes and tools throughout the IT enterprise. The objective is to strengthen and solidify the IT organization. This project is envisioned to take approximately 6 months. Staff will answer directly to SCIO.
Duties:
Serve as a Project Manager within the Information Technology Department . Act as the single point of contact for IT Organizational structure project which will be tasked with developing an organizational structure that will aid in the strategic design of the IT Organization. This assembled project team will assess and analyze IT staffing structures, business processes and tools throughout the IT enterprise. The objective is to strengthen and solidify the IT organization.
Detailed Statement of Duties:
- define project objectives and boundaries,
- manage change requests to those boundaries,
- set and manage expectations
- mitigate risk
- elevate and communicate to all levels of the organization
- plan project deliverables and milestones
- estimate and track project costs and schedules
- lead team of technical persons in a matrixed environment
- lead technical project team to successful on-time and on budget delivery of product
- coordinate business plans / tasks as necessary
- monitor and follow up on action plans
- motivate team
- solve problems by including right skill set and offering improvements
- coordinate implementation and post-production of technical project
- offer suggestions for constant improvement
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience required includes but is not limited to:
- Technical Project Management in Windows, Internet, and Mainframe environment.
- A strong understanding and experience with Software Development Life Cycle Methodology a plus.
- Knowledge and experience with standard PMI Project Management Methodology required.
