Thanks to the new REACH IT initiative, unemployed Charlotte-area workers will have the opportunity to receive FREE training in one of two career tracks: health information technology (HIT) or information technology (IT) training.


Information technology is a growing industry that is constantly evolving and changing. As a result, it’s important that IT professionals continually update their skills to keep pace with the industry’s workforce demands. Today’sIT professionals can expect to join a technology-forward industry that is on the move and setting the standard in how information is both shared and stored.

These training tracks will help you become a more skilled Health IT professional, an individual capable of improving the quality of health care and patient care throughout the region by ensuring the secure exchange of medical information between health care consumers and providers.


 



  • Health IT Technical/Software Support Specialist Track. If you’re a professional in IT or health care management, enroll in this fully online training track and learn how to support the deployment and ongoing maintenance of health information technology in clinical and public health settings. You’ll learn how to maintain systems, patch and upgrade HIT software, and provide “help-desk” support to individual users.Next class begins in January 2013; application will be available in October 2012.

  • Health IT Trainer Track. Do you have a health care or IT background? If so, enroll in this 100 percent online training track and learn how to train others, who work in clinical or public health care settings, in HITprograms. Classes begin October 9, 2012.

In today's ever-changing marketplace, it's important to keep your skills current as an ITprofessional. REACH IT will provide the IT training needed for you to remain competitive in the rapidly-changing regional and global IT industry.


 


 



  • Business Intelligence Track. You will learn how to design and develop Business Intelligence systems that help reduce the complexity of organizing and distributing information within mid- to large-size companies.Classes begin in January 2013; application will be available on October 8, 2012.

  • Network/Security Track. You will learn how to improve network reliability, while learning more about the latest networking and security technologies, such as private cloud computing, automated disaster recovery/business continuity and others. Classes begin in January 2013; application will be available on October 8, 2012.
