Woburn, Mass. – 7AC Technologies, a Woburn-based provider of energy-efficient air conditioning and heating technology, has raised $2.4 million in venture capital, the company disclosed on Thursday in a regulatory filing. 7AC has licensed seven patent applications from the Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and has independently filed 16 patent applications around its design concepts. Its technology consists of an all-plastic conditioner, responsible for treating the outside air, and a regenerator, for re-concentrating the desiccant. It has capacity to cool in summer and recover heat and moisture in winter, according to the company.
