Atherton Advisors is seeking truly exceptional High Tech Strategy Consulting professionals to be based in Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, and NY. No kidding, we are seeking the absolute best and brightest from only the top schools in the world. Our client is a prestigious boutique technology-centric management consulting firm that specializes in TECH/INNOVATION of software, internet, semiconductor and biotech/pharma consulting to the Who’s Who of high-tech industry. They compete mostly against McKinsey, Bain & BCG for the most visible projects at the forefront of technology. The only way we can do that is by hiring STAR performers at every level.
The mission is develop innovative, data-driven strategies to create sustained improvement for clients' performance. Teams combine unique strategic insights of leading experts from Harvard Business School and other top institutions with practical industry experience of our consultants. Teams apply cutting edge economic and strategic analysis to impact business strategy, policy and regulatory issues.
ANALYSTS – (multiple jobs open): must be recognized for OUTSTANDING results during/after undergrad from a top school in fields like CS/ME/EE/Math and similarly quantitative fields +0-2 years working after graduation. Mostly we seek SMARTS and INSIGHTS, combined with superior communications above and beyond average as the primary prerequisite for pre-MBA analysts. Additionally we seek adaptable, hard workers with a thirst for knowledge, superior communications skills (succinct, on target and clear) and a record of solving complex problems.
CONSULTANTS – (multiple jobs open): MBA from a top school like (Harvard, Stanford, or MIT) and 0-2 years in consulting from a McKinsey, Bain or BCG plus a solid foundation in technology or engineering.
Because we are a relatively small firm with a flat organization structure (one less layer than McKinsey) this is an unparalleled opportunity to build and lead major portions of our consulting practice, interact with partners and experts and own client relationships quickly.
You’re probably asking yourself how does a small firm compete… it comes from truly exceptional people working hard and adding exceptional value to clients. ~50% of the team holds a PhD in a technology/quant heavy discipline…. We seek best/brightest only. Additionally, the firm is very closely connected to thought leaders at top institutions; especially Harvard Business School. If you’re amongst the brightest in any room, even a room full of MBAs from top schools then we want to talk to you. GPA is normally 3.75+ We love to hire consultants from top firms, as they know the consulting process, can hit the ground running and have superior problem solving and analytical skills. We love to hire those with start-up experience as they tend to be excited about growing something.
Perhaps you have been a generalist at one of the big 3 but have a passion for technology… perhaps you want less bureaucracy, a clearer path to partner or simply to make a bigger impact on a smaller firm. Our hierarchy is minimal but our staff is world class. You’ll be energized by the caliber of your team and quality of the client work, both are truly world-class. Most come from top firms and top schools, especially Harvard, MIT and Stanford. Successful EM’s will build strong personal relationships with outside experts such as HBS’s Technology and Operation Management unit.
Ideal Qualifications:
Education: Technical degree from a top university; IIT, Stanford, MIT, Berkeley, Harvard, Princeton, superior grades/exam scores
Consulting Experience: Zero to several years McKinsey, Bain, or BCG, especially in high-tech practice groups, at minimum must able to learn rapidly, problem solve, and concisely communicate key issues ie. crack the case with insight/creativity

Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage project teams; an ability to inspire and influence teams to deliver exceptional high quality work. Proven record of motivating/coaching individuals on multiple dimensions including analytic, project management and interpersonal skills.
