The Basics



PerkStreet Financial is seeking a web developer to help build next generation banking experiences for its customers. We need someone who loves making things for the web and is as comfortable digging into a nagging CSS issue as they are tweaking JavaScript code for a new interactive application. We may have the word "financial" in our name, but strike any negative connotations from your head -- we're one of Boston's hottest startups and we've set out to accomplish nothing less than fixing what's wrong with big banking today. We founded PerkStreet to help our customers live financially responsible and rewarding lives. You know, what banks are supposed to do.



We know that many job listings include a bulleted list of fifty requirements that no one on the planet could possible meet, so we’ll keep it simple. Needless to say, excellent verbal and written communications skills are required -- we have a small, tight team here and believe in listening to every voice. You must be highly motivated, a fast learner, and capable of taking the initiative to see things through to completion. We offer lots of opportunities for those willing to take advantage of them.



Requirements:

• 2-3 years experience coding rich, interactive websites


• Excellent cross-browser HTML, CSS, JavaScript and AJAX skills  


• Experience working with a web app framework beyond HTML (e.g. Django, Rails, ASP.NET MVC, etc.)


• Good design sense - you’ll be working with designers but should be comfortable making basic layout changes on your own


• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer. Local applicants only.
