Cambridge-based Backupify Raises $5M and is hiring Ruby on Rails
Cambridge, Mass. – Backupify, a Cambridge-based provider of data protection and management services for cloud-based applications, has raised $5 million in its second round of venture capital, which was led by Avalon Ventures. Founded in 2008, Backupify offers an archiving, search and restore service for the most popular online services including Google Apps, Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, Flickr and more. The company’s service ensures that users can access and control the data they entrust to these systems and prevents data loss from external threats, user error or service failure. Other investors in Backupify include General Catalyst and Lowercase Capital. The company has now raised $10.4 million since its founding.
