Cambridge-based Foundation Medicine Raises $10M and They Are Hiring!

Cambridge, Mass. -- Foundation Medicine, a Cambridge-based developer of clinical laboratory tests, has raised $10 million of venture capital, according to a new filing by the company with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Founded in 2009, Foundation is developing technology designed to capture the relevant tumor genomic and other molecular information in an individual cancer patient’s disease, and connect it with relevant clinical data to help an oncologist determine the right treatment. Foundation was launched by leaders from the Broad Institute, the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It is backed by Third Rock Ventures.
