Business Development Manager/Questex Media Group - Newton, MA
Identifies sales opportunities for assigned trade shows, generates market information for potential exhibitors and sponsors, and is responsible for achieving assigned revenue targets. While performing the essential functions of the position the Business Development Manager has extensive contact with customers, prospects, and other key industry contacts and specialists. This position has regular contact with the entire Show team as well as other sales staff. Responsibility: Sells exhibit space and sponsorships within assigned show territory to achieve revenue targets. Performs extensive research on the marketplace to develop prospect universe to grow territory. Identifies and/or maximizes the sales opportunity for each assigned account in territory via phone and face to face meetings. Maintains and utilizes Salesforce database for all client contact and scheduling. Performs other duties as assigned by Sales Director.
Job Requirements: College Degree; 3 or more years of trade show sales experience with proven track record of achieving targets; Experience in publishing/media sales beneficial. Highly motivated, self-starter with the proven ability to generate and close sales over the phone and in face-to-face appointments. Understands issues relevant to the groups market and industry and can respond to potential opportunities and threats for the business relevant to the conditions of the market.
