Nashua, N.H. – AutoVirt, a Nashua-based provider of digital file management software, has raised $5 million in a round of venture capital, according to a new filing by the company with theSecurities and Exchange Commission. Founded by its CTO Klavs Landberg in 2007, AutoVirt offers software that automates data migration for Windows environments. Its product allows IT administrators to “virtualize” access to files and then use the platform to migrate, consolidate, replicate, or tier data across any number of physical devices without affecting users or reconfiguring applications. Investors in AutoVirt include Sigma Partners and Kepha Partners.

We believe test automation is critical to producing quality products, and we’re seeking an experienced Software Automation Engineer to join our QA Automation team.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze product features and produce thorough and detailed test cases.

  • Implement automated test to quickly and efficiently validate product functionality and explore its limits.

  • Work closely with the rest of the automation and development team.  Teamwork is critical.


Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have:


  • 2+ years of C#/.Net experience

  • Experience with automation test frameworks

  • A solid understanding of effective QA process with demonstrated skills in test case development and product improvement

  • WCF, threading and SQL experience are a plus


The primary users or our products are IT administrators, therefore experience with the following IT tools and infrastructure is desirable:



  • Active Directory and DNS

  • Hyper-V, VMware (ESX) virtual machines

  • DFS, CIFS, and NFS

  • Data migration tools such Robocopy, SecureCopy

Director of Demand Generation

AutoVirt has developed the world’s first software product that can automatically and transparently tier files across physical storage devices, helping IT groups achieve significant cost savings and process efficiency in their storage infrastructure. We are now bringing this technology to market through a network of partners and value-added resellers, and are looking to add a Director of Demand Generation to our team.

In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of lead generation, campaign execution, events, and social media engagement. You will be the “voice of the channel,” ensuring that we have everything we need to make our partners successful. You will be a vital part of our sales & marketing organization, working with a talented and hungry team to turn this venture-funded company into a huge success.


Responsibilities:




    • Determine the appropriate mix of lead generation campaigns (online marketing, webcasts, direct marketing, SEO, and other programs) and execute those campaigns in conjunction with partners

    • Develop, monitor and report success metrics for campaigns

    • Plan and execute the event calendar consisting of one or two annual national shows each year and 8-12 regional events

    • Manage the internal marketing database, running qualification and cultivation campaigns in conjunction with our telemarketing team

    • Spearhead social media campaigns to drive awareness of AutoVirt

    • Be the “voice of the channel” evangelizing channel needs throughout AutoVirt

    • Plan and execute joint marketing programs with existing partners

    • Support partner recruitment

    • Support sales and partner training activities

    • Work with sales team & VARs to analyze effectiveness of marketing initiatives and programs, and drive changes with internal teams



Experience:


    • 7-10 years experience in high-tech marketing, including 3-5 years experience in demand generation marketing

    • Experience developing, executing, and reporting on channel marketing campaigns, lead generation programs, events, and online marketing campaigns

    • Strong Enterprise Software experience (storage background a plus but not required)

    • Resourceful, a self-starter – can set goals, drive consensus, and achieve results

    • Strong Project Planning, Oral & written, communication skills

    • Experience using Marketing Automation and/or Sales automation tools a plus (Marketo, Hubspot, Salesforce.com)

Senior Sales Engineer

AutoVirt, Inc. has an opening for a Software Sales Engineer with NAS expertise for our exciting Windows-based system application. AutoVirt is an early stage, high energy start-up seeking the very best, innovative, sales executives.  The resource will provide pre-sales technical support for customers, partners, and the AutoVirt sales force including but not limited to: presentations, demonstrations, proof of concepts (POC’s), prototypes and technical account planning. This is a ground floor opportunity in a fast paced startup environment.



 

Responsibilities:


    • Responsible for the day-to-day technical support of the AutoVirt Sales Team. Assist in moving opportunities through the sales process by utilization of technical and communication skills.

    • Work with engineering and product teams to feed back customer and market technical requirements.

    • Assist sales with technical requirements of RFI/RFP responses.

    • Assist technical support team with issue identification and customer response.

    • Assist and train partners in pre-sales activities including technical presentations and demonstrations.



Qualifications:


    • 6-10 years experience in virtualization technologies, pre-sales engineering, technical product demonstrations and installation.

    • Strong technical understanding of virtualization technologies, specifically Microsoft and VMware technologies.

    • Demonstrate knowledge of Windows 2003 and 2008.  Focus on server side technologies.

    • Demonstrate knowledge of  Active Directory.

    • Experience with web based (IIS) applications.

    • Experience with one of our supported NAS devices (NetApp, Celerra).

    • Hold a technical undergraduate degree

    • Team approach – ability to work with corporate staff from multiple departments (e.g., inside sales, marketing, support, sales engineer, executives).

    • Strong verbal and written communications skills, work ethic and follow-through.

    • Travel as appropriate and necessary to support revenue goals.

    • Proficient at public speaking, ability to articulate new technology concepts to our target audience.

Lead Software Support Engineer

AutoVirt is looking for a Lead Software Support Engineer, someone who can work directly with our corporate clients, trouble shoot and correct issues relating to AutoVirt’s innovative software, leading and growing the support team as needed.

Responsibilities
Support engineers act as the liaison between our customers’ IT staff and AutoVirt’s engineering team helping the customer get a resolution quickly and efficiently.  Support is provided primarily via email and incoming telephone calls.  This person will be a vital part of our support organization, working with a talented and hungry team to turn this venture-funded company into a huge success.

This person will lead the growing support team at AutoVirt.  This position is ideal for someone with a few years experience in a support role and a ton of growth potential.

Responsibilities include:


  • Establish and implement tools and practices for the support team

  • Identify, research, and resolve problems using a wide degree of creativity and latitude

  • Duplicating customer problems internally to better understand the issue

  • First line of contact, responsible for determining the source of the problem, whether hardware, software or OS related

  • Responsible for managing customer issue life cycle for each incident created by a customer

  • Working closely with engineering on escalations as needed

  • Working closely with engineering on qualifying new releases, service packs and hot fixes

  • Documenting, tracking and monitoring the open issues to ensure a timely resolution

  • Establish superior knowledge of the functionality, implementation and workings of AutoVirt’s products and product space



Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have:


  • Proven ability to manage customers during issue resolution

  • At least 3 years experience in a support role including Windows-based applications

  • Proven ability to manage customers during issue resolution

  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills

  • Good knowledge of Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2008

  • Knowledge of and experience with Windows file servers, and other filers (NetApp, EMC, etc).

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Proven ability to work as a team member

  • The ability to work independently, to see what needs to be done and take action

  • Be able to write clear step-by-step procedures for problem solving and short technical documents that are read by the end customers and engineering

  • The ability to manage small projects and provide leadership while juggling multiple tasks and priorities

  • You must be able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adjust easily to change

  • A bachelors degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent work experience

  • Installation, configuration and troubleshooting experience of Windows Server Operating Systems (2003/2008)

  • Familiarity with web application technologies such as .NET / C# in both Unix and Windows environments

  • Solid understanding of Windows networking and Active Directory

  • Handling customer cases via email systems

  • Strong Enterprise Software experience (storage background a plus but not required)

  • Resourceful, a self-starter – can set goals, drive consensus, and achieve results

  • Mac and NFS experience are a plus
