Marlborough, Mass. – Xtalic, a Marlborough-based developer of nanostructured metal coatings, has raised $8 million in a round of venture capital, according to a new filing by the company with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Founded in 2005, Xtalic develops technology that provides corrosion resistance and wear resistance for a range of applications, including decorative and functional metal finishing, as well as electronics. Xtalic raised $10 million in a previous venture capital financing in 2008. Investors in Xtalic include Matrix Partners and North Bridge Venture Partners.
