Quincy-based Myriant Technologies Raises $60M and they are Hiring!
From New England Tech Wire:
Quincy, Mass. -- Myriant Technologies, a privately held, Quincy-based biotech developer and manufacturer of renewable bio-based chemicals, announced on Monday it has raised a $60 million strategic equity investment from PTT Chemical Group, a Thailand-based petrochemical producer. Founded in 2004, Myriant develops cellulosic sugars for the commercialization of specialty chemicals. The company's lactic acid started production at commercial scale in 2008 for use in polylactic acid. Myriant said it will use the investment for the ongoing development of its bio-based high-value chemicals technology, as well as to help fund commercialization of its succinic acid platform, including construction of a succinic acid plant in Lake Providence, La.
