Mechanical Engineer, R&D 
The ideal candidate will have had direct hands on experience developing fluid delivery systems, food processing equipment and/or commercial refrigeration equipment. 

A thorough understanding of the practices and procedures for robust product development from conception through production is required with detailed knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid flow, electronics and design for manufacture protocols. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 
• Develop innovative, creative product and system designs and process enhancements for the next generation of stand-alone machines. 
• Foster a creative teamwork environment in a diverse research environment with the ability to develop and maintain win – win relationships with all stakeholders. 
• Create robust solutions for complex design challenges for food grade products. 
• Ensure projects are executed on time and to specification 
• Provide project direction to external suppliers 
• 15% travel within the US 

QUALIFICATIONS 
• BSME as a minimum, advanced degree a plus 
• 5 to 10 years prior experience in product development of a commercial product. 
• 3 to 5 years experience with both metal fabrication and Injections molded parts using SolidWorks. 
• Must be hands on, versus design focused. 
• Understand scientific principals and test methodology. 
• Commercialized new products from concept to launch. 
• Technical knowledge related to food grade products a plus 
• In depth technical knowledge of injection molding, sheet metal, thermoforming, fluid and thermodynamics 
• Knowledge / passion for developing products that meet NSF requirements. 
• Experience in High Volume manufacturing scale up is a plus. Work with team to for improved operational efficiencies helping to reduce cost. 
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal 
• Strong computer skills in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. are essential.
