Summary:

This position provides a tremendous opportunity for a seasoned Project Management to apply their experience and training to large scale off-the-shelf software product development projects.



The successful candidate will work in a high-profile environment and be responsible for driving all aspects of planning, execution and delivery. The position offers the opportunity to work with complex software systems, manage the delivery of software from overseas outsourcing partners, and take advantage of contemporary software development methodologies and techniques such as Agile and Critical Chain.





Responsibilities:



The project manager in this position will simultaneously manage multiple software product development projects, with key responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:



§ Support development and maintenance of high-level resource plans

§ Develop and maintain detailed task-based project plans and schedules

§ Develop and maintain detailed project risk management workbooks

§ Maintain project cost forecasts

§ Support development of work plans for outsource partners

§ Monitor and control deliverables from outsource partners

§ Conduct regular project meetings with local teams and outsource partners

§ Maintain project status dashboards and present status to key stakeholders





Objective:

This position requires the simultaneous management of several software product development projects. Of utmost importance is the creation of robust project plans, and managed execution, that ensures that commitments made on dates for delivery, and on cost projections, are met on a consistent basis. In addition, the quality of software delivered must be demonstrated in the field over time to be considered successful.



A significant portion of the typical software project will be delivered by outsource partners. The success of our partners is directly connected to our ability to define their outcomes and ensure their ability to succeed.



These items will form the basis for evaluating the performance of individual in this position.





Qualifications


Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, and will have a minimum of 7-10 years experience managing software product development projects. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a must. Additional certifications in contemporary methodologies such as Certified Scrum Master are a plus.



Candidates must have prior experience managing software projects that have used 3rd party outsource partners, and should be able to demonstrate their knowledge of key elements for success in this context. Previous travel to India, China or other locales in support of 3rd party development is a plus.



Prior domain experience in the industrial automation industry is a plus.



Desirable traits and skills include written and verbal communications, demonstrated leadership abilities, negotiation and conflict resolution.
