Summary: As a member of both the Facilities and Distribution departments, the Facilities/Distribution Specialist is responsible for mechanical service calls and in-house repairs throughout the facility and grounds; performs routine tasks related to the receipt, storage, distribution, issuance, and/or shipping of Caliper products, parts and subassemblies. 

Responsibilities: Facilities 
• This individual performs work in one or more maintenance trades including but not limited: the basics of HVAC systems, carpentry, electrical, plumbing and painting. 
• Performs routine equipment repair and installation of office fixtures. 
• Makes periodic or special inspections on premises to determine necessary repair work. 
• Responsible for space planning and implementation; may work from rough sketches and drawings 
• Performs weekly and/or monthly inspections as required on Hazardous Waste storage areas, safety drench showers and eye wash stations, fire extinguishers, security system including electronic timers and building access card swipes and controls. 

Responsibilities: Distribution 
• Completes general warehouse tasks in accordance with defined ISO procedures and/or supervisory and work instructions. 
• Receives and processes incoming PO’s using Oracle. 
• Verifies materials released for stockroom through receiving and issue-to-stock processes. 
• Assists in daily cycle count activities. 
• Performs Oracle inventory transactions. 
• Processes sales orders and work orders for shipment (picking, packing, checking). 
• Packages orders for issue to stock, or shipment using various packaging means 
• Sort mail according to destination and type such as returned letters, adjustments, bills, orders, and payments. 
• Stamp/seal outgoing mail by hand or with postage meter. 
• Distribute and collect mail. 

Education/Experience: This position requires a high school diploma (preferably from a technical vocational school) or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of directly related facilities and distribution. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Previous Oracle experience is highly desirable.
