STR Moving Solar Encapsulants Operations, Investing $19M in East Windsor
East Windsor, Conn. – STR, a maker of encapsulants used in the solar power industry, announced on Tuesday that it will relocate the majority of its manufacturing facilities to a 275,000-square-foot facility in East Windsor, where it will invest about $19 million in the next two years. In connection with the move, the company will cease manufacturing at its facilities in Enfield and Somers, Conn., after moving its existing equipment into the new facility during the next 15 to 18 months. STR said that the plant could accommodate future expansion of up to 5.5 gigawatts of total capacity.
