The latest Mass Layoffs news release
(http://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/mmls.pdf)
was issued today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Highlights are below.

In May, employers took 1,412 mass layoff actions involving 135,789 workers. The
number of events decreased by 444 over the month, and associated initial claims
decreased by 65,081. Layoffs in the manufacturing sector declined to their lowest
levels in program history.
