Acton, Mass. – Tatara Systems, an Acton-based developer of SIP-based network solutions for femtocell convergence, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $7 million in a round of venture capital that was led by North Bridge Venture Partners. Highland Capital Partners also participated in the deal. Founded in 2001, Tatara provides technology that supports femtocell integration with legacy networks, allowing operators to offer new residential and business services without re-engineering their “incumbent mobile core.” The company has raised over $40 million since its founding.
