Devens, Mass. -- American Superconductor (AMSC), a Devens-based supplier
of power technologies, announced on Monday that it has received a $445 million
order for core electrical components from Sinovel Wind Group, a
China-based wind turbine manufacturer. Shipments under the new contract will
span a period of 30 months, AMSC said. Shares in the company were up about 6%
at $32.74 as of mid-afternoon on Monday.
