Watertown, Mass. -- Selecta Biosciences, a Watertown-based
biopharmaceutical company, announced on Monday that it has raised $15 million
in its third round of venture capital, which was led by OrbiMed Advisors.
Other investors in the deal include Polaris Venture Partners, Flagship
Ventures, NanoDimension and Leukon Investments. Founded in 2008 by three
researchers at MIT and Harvard, Selecta is developing synthetic nanoparticle
vaccines. The company is pursuing opportunities across a range of clinical applications,
including infectious, metabolic, CNS and inflammatory diseases. Selecta now has
raised over $30 million of investment capital in the last 15 months.

Director, Business Development

Duties and Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for the business development
function at Selecta including strategic business opportunities, product
opportunity analysis, market analysis, partnerships, in-licensing, and
out-licensing. The successful candidate will be part of the senior
management team and help direct the business strategy and direction of
the company. Generation and execution of a successful partnering
strategy will be a main element of the position along with support from a
market and opportunity analysis standpoint for Selecta internal
development programs.  The successful candidate will provide leadership
and take responsibility for the planning, execution and implementation
of strategic business objectives.

Education Requirements

S. or B. Eng., advanced science degree preferred, MBA desirable

Experience

Minimum of 7 years experience in business development in the life
sciences field with a demonstrated deal record.  Title and compensation
will be commensurate with education and experience.
