American Superconductor Gets $70 Million Order for Wind Turbine Systems in China. And they have US jobs!

Devens, Mass. -- American Superconductor, a power technology company,
announced on Monday that it has received an initial $70 million for full wind
turbine electrical control systems from China's Shenyang Blower Works
(SBW). SBW is a state-owned company that provides a wide range industrial
equipment. Founded in 1934, the company has more than 5,700 employees and about
$1.4 billion in annual sales. SBW will be the fourth American Superconductor
(Nasdaq: AMSC) customer to enter volume production of wind turbines in China.
Under the contract, American Superconductor expects to begin shipping the
electrical control systems to SBW in the second half of calendar 2010 and
complete shipments in the first half of 2013.
