Natick MA-based Vivox Raises $6.8 Million.

Natick, Mass. - Vivox, a Natick-based
provider of voice chat services for online games, has raised $8.8 million in a
round of venture capital, which was led by IDG Ventures. Founded in
2005, Vivox supports over 15 million users in more than 180 countries,
delivering over 2 billion minutes of voice chat a month, according to the
company. Its chat product is available on multiple platforms, including PC, web
based and for the PlayStation3 console. Vivox customers include online game and
virtual world developers and publishers such as CCP Games, Icarus Studios,
Linden Lab, and Sony Online Entertainment.
