Newton, Mass. -- PatientKeeper, a
Newton-based provider of physician information technology, has raised a $13
million round of funding comprised of equity and debt, the company announced on
Tuesday. The equity round was led by current investors Flybridge Capital
Partners, New Enterprise Associates and Whitney & Co. The venture debt was
provided by Lighthouse Capital Partners. PatientKeeper said that the funding
will allow it to accelerate the development of its physician documentation and
computerized physician order entry applications. PatientKeeper has over 15,000
physicians using its applications. The company said that, based on current deployments,
it expects this number to more than double, to over 30,000 physicians by the
middle of next year.
