Communications Director: Boston MA: 1 Yr Contract Position

The opening requires the following experience:

IT Consolidation is complex from both technical and tactical perspectives. One of the guiding principles of the Consolidation is to conduct the planning and implementation in an open and transparent manner .The role of the Communications Director is to understand all aspects of the program and develop materials that relay key messages to business and technical stakeholders and those impacted by Consolidation.

Duties

·         Consult with Secretariat CIO’s to identify communications needs and understand the key messages, time frames, priorities, informational content, and the nature of Consolidation related project(s)

·         Create informational materials that conform to the brand standard

·         Create tools and templates for the Consolidation Tool Kit; update existing templates

·         Use and understand the value of different multiple media formats (publication, display, presentation pamphlet, broadcast, etc.) for presenting information

·         Assist in the publication of newsletters and organizational publications (including regular email blasts), and ensure program Wiki is managed and well maintained 

·         Provide insights into informational materials developed within threads, review for consistency and relevance to overall program message; Recommend edits, rewrites, format changes, etc., that may be necessary

·         Participate in regular program management meetings to understand the high level operations and objectives that need to be incorporated into program communications

·         Coordinate Town halls and briefings for wider audiences, create materials for these events

Qualifications

·         Marketing certificate, diploma or degree followed by a minimum of 5+ years of professional services in marketing and communications leadership role

·         Thorough understanding of branding principles and tactics through multimedia including the Web

·         Proven ability to design, develop and implement both strategic programs and supporting tactics

·         Superior written and verbal communications skills, coupled with highly developed interpersonal skills

·         Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities within tight timelines and high client expectations

·         Ability to quickly grasp complex technical and business concepts and express them in clear language

·         Flexible and open to changing priorities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously within compressed timeframes
