The New England Job show is looking for some elevator pitch coaches.
If you are looking for a way to give back to fellow networkers, but don’t have a lot of leads to send out, you may want to consider elevator pitch coaching. The New England Job show is made up of many people who belong to Acton Networkers and other networking groups. Among other things, we provide a free service to job seekers to record an elevator pitch. We provide coaching in writing the pitch, including helping people to find an identity to present, and on presentation style during the taping.
In addition to the 30-second elevator pitch, there is a 90-second interview, where the job seeker gets to pick the questions. We currently have 47 elevator pitches and interviews up on our blog ( http://www.nejs.org ) and on YouTube. These videos are also part of The New England Job Show, which is shown on local cable television stations, Comcast On Demand and on our blog. We are looking for people with a background in HR, writing, presentations, or theatre to help coach a few hours during a week.
It does not have to be every week – just when you are available. This is a great way to meet people and to feel like you have a job and coworkers, while actually creating something tangible that you can point potential employers to. A few weeks ago, I had an interview where we talked as much about the elevator pitches as we did about the job.
Recently, we have added a profile on LinkedIn, so you can list your involvement in the show as a current position. The majority of the work can be done via email on over the phone.
If you are interested, please write to me or to nejs.elevatorspeech@gmail.com
Thank you.
