There's as opening at Polycom in Andover for a software developer with
3-5 years' experience in Java and C on Linux/Unix and some experience
with .NET/C# on Windows.

Below is the job description.

Title:  API Software Development Engineer

Description:
Responsible for development, integration, test and support of API for
Polycom Telepresence System. Will work closely with internal and
third-party integrators and partners. Must have hands-on development
experience in Java and C working with APIs in a Linux/Unix
environment, and experience with .NET/C# on Windows. Responsibilities
include but are not limited to the following:

·         Participate in design reviews and work with team to develop
and release software API and test applications.

·         Perform API functional and system application tests.

·         Develop and test sample applications to be released to
developer/partner community; coordinate all API and sample app
testing.

·         Interface with customers and developer community that uses the API.

·         Use customer feedback to guide API development; serve as a
customer liaison, troubleshooter and escalation point of contact for
Customer Experience API issues.

·         Work with team on bug fixing, troubleshooting, code reviews,
and buddy testing, and work collaboratively to resolve issues with
Development team.

Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in CS, EE, or equivalent, with 3-5 years of directly
related experience in Java and C/C++.

·         Must have experience developing software applications using
third-party API/SDK (preferably for a communication product) and also
experience integrating different software modules or applications
within a product using third-party hardware and software.

·         Application development experience on Linux/Unix platform is
required, and experience working on Microsoft Windows with .NET/C# is
desired.

·         Experience working with audio-video communications products
and embedded systems development is a plus.

·         Must possess excellent technical writing skills, and must be
capable of clearly documenting example applications and programming
techniques.

·         Ability to multi-task efficiently on parallel efforts
(customer issues, prototyping/architecture, implementation etc.).

·         Experience with integration practices and achieving
deliverables on time and with high quality.

·         Experience with source control tools like AccuRev or
ClearCase is highly desired.
