A veteran Connecticut career counselor and author is working with job seekers to find them positions that match their personality types.
Paul
Tieger, of Hartford, launched MyPersonalJobCoach.com in September. Most
people work for most of their adult lives, often in jobs that are
neither fulfilling nor energizing - so "why not find one that will be
more intrinsically satisfying?" Tieger told the Hartford Courant .
The customized job search
program has roots in "Do What You Are," a highly popular book Tieger
and his former wife Barbara Barron published in 1992. It applied the
concepts of the Myers-Briggs personality type analysis to techniques
for finding the right job.
"When 1,000 people show up for 100 jobs, the
odds aren't good," is one of Tieger's mantras, the Courant reports.
"But 100 people will get the job. We can help you have an advantage."
It's not free. A membership for "My Personal Job Coach" is $49.
