Mississippi invests nearly $1.5 mil to help job-seekers find work
JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - In a tough economy, the entire nation is
struggling with high unemployment and job loss, and the magnolia state
is no exception.
But October 1st, the state of Mississippi announce that it's launching a program to try and change that.

October has been named "Let's Get Working, Mississippi" month.
And
the Mississippi Department of Employment Security plans to use a $1.4
million federal grant to help put thousands of people back to work.
The
state's WIN job centers will use the grant to contact about 10,000
participants in the unemployment security program who have had
difficulty finding work. The WIN centers will help those job-seekers
refocus their job search and find employment.
"Some analysts
are indicating that businesses are starting to re-hire as business
picks up," said Les Range, executive director of MDES. "So we need to
make sure we have a trained and ready workforce as the economy
returns."
MDES is also encouraging employers from across the state to post job listings on the MDES website.
