Billerica-based AS&E Receives $18.2 Million Inspection Systems Order

Billerica, Mass. -- American Science and Engineering
(AS&E), a Billerica-based supplier of X-ray detection systems, announced
on Thursday that it has received an $18.2 million order from Al Zamil
Group, a supplier to the industrial, petrochemical, and service sectors, for
multiple cargo and vehicle inspection systems. The order will supply systems to
Saudi Arabia Customs for border security applications. The AS&E
system provides high-energy transmission inspection for high penetration into
inspected objects. Its scanning platform operates by moving on rails past
stationary vehicles and cargo.
