Billerica-based American Science and Engineering (AS&E), a maker of
X-ray detection systems, said that it has landed an $18.8 million order from an
unnamed government agency. Under the deal, the company will provide X-ray
inspection systems that will screen cargo and vehicles for explosive threats and
contraband at border crossings.
