Update on OddJob Nation
From the Examiner | Sept 16, 2009
Per an article I wrote several months back titled "Odd jobs can bring you money while looking for full time work," several clever guys developed Odd Job Nation,
which keys in on the vast market of odd jobs (mowing lawns, doing
promotional work and handing out products, moving someone's junk, etc,
etc). It's quite a unique website and makes you think about ways you
can make money. Odd Job Nation is back with some major updates and
contests, including a "Worst Resume" contest, with the Grand Prize
winner getting a)complete resume makeover b)free session with a life
coach c)custom designed resume t-shirt.
Don't forget to also check out tips on how to succeed at professional networking during the recession. And why you're there, also feel free to share any hillarious, funny or crazy oddjob story you've heard of.
In case you've never heard of Odd Job Nation, here's a little refresher. It was inspired by the new web series "Odd Jobs",
and created by Jeremy Redleaf, who saw one too many friends tossed from
Wall Street to Beat Street. As Redleaf states on the website, Odd Job
Nation helps turn lemons into a lemonade stand. They've been picked up
my major members of the media, including Newsweek, and CNN.The
site serves as a resource for those folks unemployed or part-time
opportunists out ther. Yet it's done in a humurous irreverent tone.
Don't we all need to try to relax and not get too caught up in this
economy? Life goes on right? Check out one of their webisodes below.
