The Cognos BI Developer will be responsible for aspects of report
administration, development & maintenance using COGNOS8.3 software.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in COGNOS 8 toolset on a
Teradata platform. Define, design, develop, and deliver flexible
reports that meet business user needs. Transform business requirements
into comprehensive solutions using the appropriate methods, tools and
technologies. Convert reports/cubes from Cognos 7 to Cognos 8/Teradata.
Adhere to SDLC methodology while working collaboratively with a variety
of product teams (data integration, quality assurance, configuration
management, solutions management, etc.). Design, develop, troubleshoot,
debug and implements Business Intelligence reporting solutions using
COGNOS 8.x suite. Perform Cognos administration for multiple BI
environments as needed. Use COGNOS server administration tools to
perform administrative tasks. Troubleshoot and resolve issues using the
COGNOS log message facility. Work with application engineering and DBAs
to tune and optimize performance. Write detailed documentation of
design, development, testing, and deployment activities necessary to
ensure team knowledge sharing.
