L-1 Identity Solutions Gets $9.6M Order for Mobile Authentication
Systems

Stamford, Conn. -- L-1 Identity Solutions, a
Stamford-based provider of identity authentication technology and services, has
received new orders totaling $9.6 million for mobile biometric recognition
systems to be deployed in areas of conflict. The company's HIIDE product is a
ruggedized mobile biometric enrollment and recognition device that provides
real-time identification using iris, finger and face biometrics. First
introduced in 2005, it has sold about 10,000 devices. More than 4,500 of L-1's
PIER mobile devices are in the field today and used for iris-based mobile
biometric enrollment and identification, according to the company.
