New Haven-Kolltan Pharmaceuticals Raises $5 Million More in First Round: See Their Jobs!

New Haven, Conn. -- Kolltan Pharmaceuticals, a New
Haven-based developer of antibody oncology therapeutics, announced on Tuesday
that it has raised $5 million more in its first round of venture capital,
bringing the total raised to 440 million. Investors in the deal include
Purdue Pharma, HBM BioCapital and the Pritzker/Vlock family.
Kolltan's technology is based on recent discoveries made in the laboratory of
Dr. Joseph Schlessinger, chairman of the Department of Pharmacology at Yale
School of Medicine. The discoveries involve biological mechanisms that regulate
key cell processes and play a pivotal role in the formation of cancer.
