Job Description
Help customers transform their business processes while driving the biggest
growth area for Microsoft! This Solution Specialist position is
responsible for driving the sales and adoption of Microsoft Application
Platform Solutions. This individual will work on a highly performing
account team focused on Retail, Hospitality and CPG customers. This
individual will be helping these customers evaluate and realize
business value from the following solutions:
Mission Critical Business Applications for Retail, Hospitality and CPG (Microsoft and ISV Solutions)
Data Warehousing & Business Intelligence Solutions
Custom Application Development Tools & Solutions
Enterprise Integration, SOA, and Business Process Automation Solutions
Internet Business, Ecommerce, and Supply Chain Solutions
Solutions standardizing and optimizing our customers Application Platform Infrastructure
Primary
responsibilities of this role include relationship management,
territory and account planning, pipeline development and management,
and opportunity and resource management. Day to day activities include
marketing and selling business application solutions in large
enterprise accounts with a high degree of independence; selling at a
strategic level in the account (CXO); developing and implementing
business plans; defining solution strategies; defining problems and
opportunities in accounts; understanding competitive strategies and
leveraging Microsoft ISV's and Partners to support Microsoft efforts
within accounts; seeking direction from management as required for
complex customer issues; and developing / executing creative and
innovative programs to influence sales opportunities. Selling efforts
will incorporate both 1:many events and 1:1 selling with ISV's,
Partners and/or technical resources in strategic opportunities. The
Solution Specialist will document and publicize design wins and success
stories. Qualifications should include 5-8 years of direct sales
experience in corporate sales or marketing of computer software,
business applications or services or an equivalent combination of
training and experience. Understands and can articulate the solution
components, competitive positioning, and business value provided by
Microsoft's Application Platform Solutions (SQL Server, .NET, Visual
Studio, BizTalk Server, Commerce Server). This individual has the
ability to interact effectively with all levels of management. Strong
oral, written, communication and presentation skills required. Strong
prioritization, objection handling, strong customer service, and
interpersonal skills desired. A BA/BS degree in related field required.
A MBA is preferred.
