We are a small (120 full time employees) dynamic and fast growing start up
company- called Boston-Power, Inc. Please google us for more information on
who we are. 

We are based in Westborough, MA and were founded by a brilliant young female scientist and CEO, who has pioneered the next generation of Lithium-Ion batteries for laptops. If you do even a little research on us, you'll find

We are looking to hire our first Human Resources Executive. I have included
the description below.

There are several key areas of importance to us for our next HR leader, they
are as follows:

- Experience with Asia, Specifically- China and Taiwan from an HR
perspective;
- OD Experience not focused on OD but a good grasp of it;
- Experience with start up companies- preferably with a pre-IPO;
- Must have significant experience being the bottom line in the HR
department- having the presence and ability to garner respect at the
executive table;
- Experience supporting high growth initiatives;
- Must be a hands on leader, willing to get involved and roll up your
sleeves;
- Expereince supporting sales- Sales compensation planning, incentivizing
etc.

Vice President, Human Resources

Boston-Power, Inc., is currently seeking a seasoned Human Resources
executive to lead the growth and development of our dynamic pre-IPO company.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a critical role
in fostering the development of our strong, positive culture as we face the
challenges of rapid growth across multiple countries. You will work closely
with senior management members to help them understand and proactively
address the Human Resource implications and opportunities of various
business decisions. You will have broad responsibility to shape the Human
Resources function, policies, programs, and systems to support the company
as it advances through its stages of development. You will partner closely
with talented, motivated people across all functions and locations to ensure
strong integration of Human Resources throughout the company. This is an
excellent opportunity to utilize your deep experience, visionary leadership,
and focused energy to drive our Human Resources efforts.

Responsibilities:



  • Provide leadership and coordination for the full scope of global Human


Resource function for Boston-Power;



  • Develop and implement Human Resource strategies and programs necessary to


meet the needs of a growing multi-national company;



  • Utilize strong practical and theoretical organizational development


principles to proactively manage the company's culture to drive employee
attraction, retention, and productivity; 



  • Lead the design and development of compensation strategies and programs to


ensure competitive salary levels and regulatory compliance;



  • Ensure managers at all levels receive coaching and counseling to managers


to support key human resource programs such as performance management,
salary administration, program and policy communications, and employee
relations; 



  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to benefits programs to maximize costs


and employee perceptions;



  • Evaluate procedures and technology solutions to improve human resources


data management;



  • Partner with senior leadership to drive workforce planning, recruitment


and organizational structures;



  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in each of the


company's locations;



  • Develop human resources operations financial strategies by estimating,


forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; aligning
monetary resources; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing
results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.
Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's in Human Resources or related field required, Master's degree


preferred;



  • Minimum of fifteen years relevant experience public and private companies


required;



  • Minimum of ten years experience in a HR Generalist capacity required;

  • Previous experience leading a broad Human Resources function required;

  • Broad experience in core Human Resource disciplines, including


Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Employee Relations, Training, and
Organizational Development;



  • Experience in an emerging growth company strongly preferred;

  • Experience leading a company through the IPO process strongly preferred;

  • Experience supporting R&D, Sales, and Manufacturing staff strongly


preferred;



  • Strong international experience, especially in China and Taiwan,


preferred;



  • Minimum of seven years supervisory experience required;

  • Minimum of five years experience supporting a non-union manufacturing


environment;



  • Ability to manage multiple functions independently and take a leadership


role in the office in support of executives;



  • Strong organization skills, process orientation and attention to detail;

  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
