to give something back that will ease the stress in today's troubled
economy?  Wonder what you can do?  Today, I learned of an innovative
and generous gesture.  The Arbor Salon and Spa
located in Athens Georgia (my community) is sponsoring an afternoon of
free haircuts for people who have lost their jobs.  On July 12 from 1pm
to 5pm, the salon doors will open up and the stylists will offer their
services to those in need.  They are calling it Job Fair for Hair.

"We realize that no matter how bad the economy, people still need
haircuts," said Janet Prince Kilpatrick, joint owner of the Arbor.
What she didn't say, but what I will add,  if they want to find a job,
they need to look their best.  What a wonderful gift!  The Arbor will
help the unemployed feel better about themselves while they increase
the person's chances for success during the interview-a definite
win-win!

Janet told me that another hair salon in another town saw what the
Arbor was doing and they are copying the idea.  They, too, will offer
free haircuts to the unemployed in their community.  This is an example
of where the word of mouth will help spread the goodness.
