Director of Benefits: Washington DC
Our client an international law firm has an opening for a Director of Benefits in their Washington, D.C. Office.
Essential Responsibilities:
Ensuring the firm's health and welfare and retirement benefit plans are
in compliance with firm policies and procedures. Preparing annual
benefits and property and casualty budgets as well as
monitoring/reporting variances. Handling all employee benefit
communications, including open enrollment materials, Intranet postings,
Summary Plan Descriptions and letters to carriers/participants and
ensuring that all benefits are effectively communicated to employees
and partners. Managing and maintaining ongoing relationships with
outside consultants, brokers, carriers and third-party vendors and
coordinating internal and external resources to deliver required and
recommended strategic changes and enhancements to benefit programs.
Qualifications:
•Minimum of five years experience with design, administration and
management of 401(k), profit sharing and defined benefit retirement
plans, health and welfare benefit programs and vendor management in a
law firm or professional services environment.
•Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources or related field required. Master's degree a plus.
•Professional certifications in CEBS, GBA, PHR/SPHR are beneficial.
•Project experience in implementing new benefit plans and programs.
•Excellent business communication, writing, presentation and
interpersonal skills, along with a strong customer focus and excellent
planning and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
